Outreach

The Institute for Chemical Education currently supports two outreach programs designed to encourage scientific discovery and enthusiasm in youth.

Students Participating in Chemical Education (SPICE) is a year-round effort comprised of undergraduate, graduate and faculty volunteers.

Chemistry camps are held annually during the summer as one-week sessions for 5th-8th graders. For 2008 four differernt camp themes will be offered, one each week. For more details about each camp, click on the links below.

Fun with Chemistry Inventions - offered 7/21/08–7/25/08

Fun with Forensic Science - offered 7/28/08–8/1/08

Each session of chemistry camp runs Monday-Friday, 1:15-4:30 PM. Enrollment cost is $130/child, and scholarships are available for those who document the need. Contact Jenny Powell at 608-262-1511 for more information.
