The University of Wisconsin-Madison Departments of Chemistry and Chemical and Biological Engineering host an annual summer  Research Experience for Undergraduates (REU) program.  Selected participants will spend 10 weeks conducting research in an area chemistry, chemical engineering, or biological engineering.






 

Research opportunities in the Department of Chemistry will be offered in the following areas:

Research opportunities in the Department of Chemical and Biological Engineering will be offered in the following areas:

  3. Bullet Colloids/Particle Technology

  4. Bullet Kinetics and Catalysis

  5. Bullet Materials

  6. Bullet Nanoscale Science and Engineering

  8. Bullet Reactor Modeling and Reaction Engineering

  9. Bullet Systems, Modeling, and Control

Program Highlights:

  1. Bullet Weekly faculty-led seminars on various Chemistry and Engineering Topics

  2. Bullet A special seminar on applying, surviving, and excelling in graduate school

  3. Bullet An end-of-summer REU poster session in which students present their research results and conclusions

  4. Bullet Social activities with students from other REU programs

  5. Bullet A summer in beautiful Madison, Wisconsin


Summer 2012 Program Details:

  1. Bullet Program Dates: May 29 – August 3, 2012.

  3. Bullet Application deadline: February 15th, 2012

  4. Bullet Students receive a stipend of $5,000. Housing and travel to and from Madison are provided
