The Science Behind the Superhero camp

Campers will investigate the scientific themes related to popular superheros.

A few of the scientific topics to be investigated: How does radiation cause genetic mutations that give the Fantastic 4 their superpowers? What materials are used to make Elastigirl’s uniform so flexible or Batman’s gadgets bullet-proof? What does it really mean to have “x-ray vision?” How does Spiderman climb walls?

For 2008, this theme will be offered 7/14–7/18.

Each session of chemistry camp runs Monday-Friday, 1:15-4:30 PM. Enrollment cost is $130/child. Contact Jenny Powell at 608-262-1511 for more information.
